Affordable Counselling Network: Clinical Placement
If you are a dedicated, professional, compassionate counsellor with a Fit For Practice letter from your training establishment, we would love to hear from you. We welcome all modalities.

Please note that we will not be responding to new applications or placement requests until 28th February 2025.
Please remember that all students are required to have had a minimum of 30 hours of personal therapy with a qualified therapist before applying.
What We Ask
You have availability to see 3 clients a week (minimum).
You hold a current and clear DBS Check (Disclosure and Barring Service).

You have had at least 30 hours of personal therapy with a qualified therapist before you apply, and you commit to being in personal therapy while on clinical placement with us.
A stable internet connection with reliable speed is essential to host online counselling sessions via video conferencing.
You are comfortable with technology and learning new systems, and you have access to Smart phone.
Ideally you will already have previous counselling experience, or you can provide a letter of Fitness to Practice from your training institution. Due to the nature of low cost counselling, many of our clients have a history of trauma or complex presentations and applications from trauma-informed therapists and those with prior counselling experience are preferred.
For insurance purposes, you must be based in the UK for the duration of your placement.

All work is online and provided you can offer a confidential space without the risk of interruption or loud background noises, client work can be conducted from your home.

We are honoured to have a diverse range of clients making use of our service. We take time to match you with clients that suit your level of experience and clinical interests.
A Community.
We pride ourselves in truly caring about our counsellora and we appreciate that sometimes life as a therapist can be a lonely profession.
Therefore we invite our placements to support and engage with each other during our training events and through our Whatsapp group if they wish to.
Support.
We have trained counsellors and administrative staff available during working hours to support our therapists and clients.
Fortnightly Supervision.
We have a range of supervisors available who offer fortnightly group supervision for our trainees at a cost of £20 per session.
Once you have achieved 50 client hours with us, we will also cover the cost of this fortnightly supervision at the same rate.
