Next Steps

After your Initial Consultation, we'll email a copy of your digital Counselling Agreement...

1. Check and approve your Counselling Agreement

After your initial consultation, we’ll email a copy of your digital Counselling Agreement for approval.

If you don’t see the email, it may be worth checking your Spam or Junk folder.

Take as long as you need to read through your agreement. When you’re happy with the details and ready to proceed, you can sign this digitally by typing your name, and confirming the payment details you’d like to use for your future counselling sessions.

Don’t worry, we won’t take any payments until the week before your first session after you’ve been introduced to your counsellor and agreed a start date and time together.

2. Meet Your Counsellor

Once your agreement is completed, we’ll take care to match you with a counsellor who feels like the right fit for you. We usually introduce your counsellor within a week, but this can take a little longer depending on your availability and individual needs.

Your counsellor will then be in touch by email to suggest some session times, using the availability you shared during your consultation.

3. Arrange your weekly session time together

Counselling sessions usually take place on the same day and at the same time each week, with your counsellor reserving this space especially for you. For this reason, we ask that you only agree to a session time you’re able to attend each consistently.

If you work shifts or need more flexibility, please let us know — we’ll do our best to match you with a counsellor who can accommodate this.

Your counsellor will provide the online meeting link, and you’ll receive reminders ahead of each session.

Your First Counselling Session

It’s important that you’re in a private, confidential space for your session, where you won’t be overheard or interrupted. This helps protect your privacy and allows you to focus fully on the conversation.

Before your first session, your counsellor will send you a secure meeting link. Most sessions take place via Google Meet. You don’t need a Google account if you’re joining through a web browser on a computer. If you’re using the Google Meet app on a phone or tablet, you’ll need to sign in with a Google account.

You’ll need a device with a camera and microphone, along with a stable internet connection.

If you’d like support using online meeting platforms, please mention this during your initial consultation or let us know at least 24 hours before your first session, and we’ll be happy to send you clear, step-by-step guidance.

If you experience any technical difficulties on the day of your session, please let your counsellor know as soon as possible — ideally at least 10 minutes before the session start time. If this happens, your counsellor can contact you by phone, provided you’ve been able to let them know about the issue in advance.

Counselling Fees

Sessions are paid for weekly in advance, and you’ll only ever be charged for sessions that are booked, there’s no subscription or ongoing fee. A receipt will be provided for each payment.

The standard fee is £30 per session. We also have a number of concessionary fee places available for those who would otherwise be unable to access counselling. These are priced at £18 or £24.

If you need to cancel a session or take a break, giving at least one week’s notice means you won’t be charged.
